🎓 Prerequisites
- ✓ Strong background in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or related fields

- ✓ Self-motivated and eager to learn
- ✓ Prior experience with CFD software is a plus but not required

Lab Guidelines & Expectations
Research Philosophy
Our lab is committed to conducting high-quality research in thermal-fluid engineering with integrity, collaboration, and continuous learning. We strive to create a professional environment that fosters academic excellence and prepares students for successful careers in industry and academia.
⏰ Lab Working Hours
Graduate students must maintain consistent lab presence during one of the following schedules:
- • Option A: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (with 1-hour lunch break)
- • Option B: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM (with 1-hour lunch break)
Note: Course hours are counted toward working hours. Students do not need to extend lab hours on days with scheduled classes.
📅 Leave Policy
- Advance Notice: All leave requests must be submitted at least one day before the intended absence
- Same-Day Leave: If you need to take leave on the same day, inform Dr. Dahiya immediately. Approval will depend on the urgency and nature of the situation
- Communication: Send leave requests via email to anurag@ccu.edu.tw with dates and reason for leave.
- Emergency Leave: In case of medical emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, inform as soon as possible
👥 Professional Conduct & Research Ethics
- ✓ Maintain regular communication with PI and attend all scheduled group meetings
- ✓ Maintain a professional and respectful attitude towards all lab members
- ✓ Keep your workspace clean and organized
- ✓ Commit to ethical research practices, proper citation, and honest reporting of results
- ✓ Maintain confidentiality of unpublished research data and findings
- ✓ Use computational resources responsibly and maintain lab equipment properly
- ✓ Submit weekly progress reports every Friday by 5:00 PM
📚 Thesis Milestones
MS Students (2 years): Complete coursework in Year 1, conduct research and publish results by Year 2, defend thesis on schedule.
PhD Students (3-4 years): Demonstrate research independence, publish in high-impact journals, and contribute original methodologies to the field.
⚠️ Non-Compliance
Repeated violations of lab policies without valid reasons may result in:
- Formal warning and documented discussion
- Loss of access to lab resources and equipment
- Reduction or withdrawal of financial support
- In severe cases, dismissal from the research group
